STAC And The City: Mumbai Ft. The Golden Hearts Collection
STAC and its founding team were born and raised in Bombay. A lot of the initial inspiration was drawn from the city- from design sensibility to love for the hustle and the idea of letting your inner self shine!
Featuring: Braided Heart Charm Pendant
A few months ago, while conceptualising this collection and watching the waves lash against stone walls, we were hit by the powerful emotion that Bombay is.
The Golden Hearts collection is our homage to the crazy, twisted, topsy turvy but endless love for this city we call home.
And now time for a tour!
Marine Drive
An icon for a reason, the promenade bordering the Arabian sea brings in admirers at all hours of the day. Stare at the glistening sea in the day, and bask in the ever-popular golden string of lights at night that draw in tourists and locals alike.
Cafe Mondegar
The famous cartoons of Mario Miranda still adorn the walls of this Colaba staple that runs at full capacity on most days! An old school classic, this cafe turned restaurant is a great place to sit and chill with a pint of beer amidst the humdrum of the Colaba market.
Colaba Causeway
Visiting Mumbai and not going to Colaba Causeway should be a cardinal sin. With both boutique and street stalls lining the street, you can shop for souvenirs, clothes, junk jewellery, decor, and everything under the sun! Try your hand at bargaining, and since a food stop is necessary, dig in at other iconic restaurants in town like Bagdadi, Bademiya and Cafe Leopold.
Regal Cinema
Featuring: Braided Heart Charm Pendant
Standing its ground in the age of multiplexes and Netflix is one of the first Art deco buildings in Mumbai- Regal Cinemas. Watching a movie here feels like you’ve travelled back in time with cheap tickets, popcorn in packets, and an unshakeable feeling of nostalgia.
Kyani and Co
One of the first bakeries in Mumbai, Kyani and Co is easily over a hundred years old! The interiors remain close to unchanged, which keeps its old school charm alive with pictures and posters from when it first opened its doors still on the walls. Authentic Parsi dishes, baked goodies, and a quiet place to chill, what’s not to like?
And with that, our tiny tour of Bombay gems comes to an end. This list reminds us of how we need to get out and walk these familiar streets again. But this time around, rocking our Golden Hearts pieces, of course!
Keep STACing!
Lots of love,
Rashi & Aakriti
